About Shinminato

The area along Toyama Bay in the city of Imizu,
Toyama Prefecture, is called the Shinminato
District.

The Shinminato district is a port town centering on the Shinminato fishing port, one of the best fishing grounds in the prefecture.
Fresh seafood from the Sea of Japan and the
scenery of the Uchikawa River, also known as the “Venice of Japan”.
It is a town overflowing with charm, both in terms of food and atmosphere.

From 2023, the "Albergo di Fuzzo (decentralized hotel)" proposed in Italy, where Venice is located, will be introduced.
and a number of inns that make use of old traditional houses have opened in the city.
A number of restaurants and other stores have also opened, making the city the focus of attention from foreign tourists.

1. 

   Around Uchikawa area

   The town is centered around the Uchigawa River, which flows just south of our restaurant.
   Sightseeing boats are also in operation, so you can enjoy the scenery from the ground or from the boat, You can enjoy various views of the city.

2. 

   ShinMinato Ohashi Bridge

   Located about 1 km east of our restaurant, it is 3.6 km long and 127 m high at its highest point.
   It is one of the largest cable-stayed bridges on the Sea of Japan side.
   The uppermost part of the bridge is a roadway, and the lower part is a pedestrian walkway,
   The bridge can be enjoyed not only by cars but also on foot.

3. 

   Housotsu Hachimangu (shrine dedicated to Housotsu)

   The shrine is located 300 meters east of our restaurant.
   Every year on October 1, the "Hikiyama and Tsukuyama Event" is held at this shrine, which has been handed down from generation to generation.
   This event is designated as a nationally important intangible folk cultural asset.
